The 750i and 750Li are built with a 4.4-Liter twin-turbo V8 that can put out 400 horsepower. A six-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive transmission is standard but an all-wheel drive or xDrive transmission is available as an option on the 750 models. Finally, the 760Li features a 6.0-Liter V12 engine that can produce up to 535 horsepower. The 760Li is available only in rear-wheel drive and uses an eight-speed automatic transmission.
A hybrid version of the BMW 7 Series is also available: the ActiveHybrid 750i and 750Li. These models have a 4.4-Liter turbocharged V8 engine that is modified to work with an electric motor, powered by a lithium battery mounted in the trunk. The combination results in 15 percent better fuel economy when compared to the other 7 Series models.
